While the Steam open-world survival game Conan Exiles receives regular updates, players still face certain quality-of-life challenges.
Fortunately, Conan Exiles supports the Steam Workshop, offering a vast array of community-made mods. Here are a few essential mods that significantly enhance the gameplay experience.
Unlike most modern games, Conan Exiles lacks a built-in minimap. Constantly pressing the 'M' key to check your location can be a tedious interruption to your adventure.
Installing the "Simple Minimap" mod adds a map to the top-right corner of your screen. It allows for customizable settings, including zooming in/out and adjusting transparency levels.
In Conan Exiles, your inventory has a fixed number of slots and an encumbrance system. Because the carry weight limit is quite low, collecting even a small amount of Wood, Stone, or Ironstone can quickly over-encumber you, forcing your character to walk.
Managing weight can be especially frustrating for solo players. The "Litman Increased Weight" mod increases your carrying capacity to 7,000,000, effectively allowing you to carry every item you find without penalty.
The default action bar in Conan Exiles only provides slots 1 through 8. With a vast array of weapons, harvesting tools, and crafting materials, eight slots are often insufficient, requiring constant manual swapping.
The "Extended Shortcut Bar" mod allows you to store items across three separate rows. This means you can equip up to 24 different tools and swap between rows with a single hotkey.
Conan Exiles features various armors and helmets, but the gear with the best stats isn't always the most visually appealing.
With the "Fashionist" mod, you can equip high-stat gear in your functional slots while placing your preferred visual gear in the "Style" slots on the right.
The left slots determine your character's stats, while the right slots dictate the outward appearance, allowing for the perfect blend of power and style.
